Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Billcit (“Billcit”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, desktop applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Policy is designed to meet practical disclosure expectations for Google Play and Apple App Store listings, and to explain optional Google Drive permissions used for backup and file features. By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Support languages: English, Hindi, and Gujarati. Support hours: Monday–Saturday, 9:00–18:00 IST (excluding public holidays).

Account and profile information: name, email address, phone number, business/shop name, GSTIN or tax identifiers you choose to provide, address, and account credentials.

Business content you enter: invoices, bills, products, stock records, parties (customers/suppliers), payments, notes, and related files you upload.

Device and usage information: device type, OS version, app version, language, approximate diagnostics (crash logs, performance), IP address, and approximate location derived from network data where needed for security and service delivery.

Payment and subscription information: plan type, purchase tokens/receipts, and billing status processed via platform stores (Google Play / Apple App Store) or other payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on Billcit servers when payments are handled by those platforms.

Support communications: messages you send via WhatsApp, email, or in-app support.

Cookies and similar technologies on our website: essential cookies for language preference and security; optional analytics cookies if enabled. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services (billing, inventory, reports, sync, backups).

To authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.

To process subscriptions, invoices for our own fees, and customer support requests.

To send service notices (security alerts, important product changes). Marketing messages are sent only where permitted and with an easy opt-out where required.

To comply with applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and other laws that apply to us.

To generate aggregated, de-identified insights that do not identify you personally.

Some Billcit features may allow you to back up, export, import, or sync selected business files using Google Drive. These features are optional. If you enable them, Billcit will request Google account authorization with limited Drive scopes needed for the feature.

What we access: With your consent, Billcit may create, read, update, and delete files and folders that the app creates in your Google Drive (app-managed data), and/or access files you explicitly select for import/export. We do not request unrestricted access to your entire Google Drive when a narrower scope is sufficient.

Why we need read access: to restore backups, import files you choose, and verify file integrity during sync.

Why we need write access: to create and update backup folders/files, export reports or documents you request, and keep backups current.

What we do not do: We do not sell Google Drive content. We do not use Drive data for advertising. We do not scan unrelated personal files for marketing.

Your control: You may disconnect Google Drive from Billcit settings (where available) and revoke access at any time in your Google Account → Security → Third-party access. Revoking access stops future Drive operations; previously exported files remain in your Drive until you delete them.

Google API Services User Data Policy: Billcit’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Depending on your device and features you use, Billcit may request permissions such as: internet access (sync and updates); storage/photos/files (to save invoices, attach images, or pick files); camera (to scan barcodes or capture product photos, if enabled); notifications (service alerts); and optional contacts access only if a feature you enable needs it to pick a phone number — we do not upload your full contacts list without a clear purpose and consent.

You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission.

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data with: (a) infrastructure and cloud providers who host the Services under contract; (b) analytics and crash-reporting providers used to improve stability; (c) payment platforms (Google Play, Apple, or payment gateways) to process subscriptions; (d) professional advisors when required; and (e) authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy or a successor policy with equivalent protections.

We retain account and business data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Services.

After account deletion requests, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, tax, accounting, dispute, or security purposes.

Backups stored in your own Google Drive remain under your Google Account until you delete them.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on production systems.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong password, keep your devices updated, and do not share login credentials.

The Services are intended for business users and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact business@billcit.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Subject to applicable law (including India’s DPDP Act), you may request access, correction, updating, or deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You may also request restriction of certain processing or raise a grievance with us. We will respond within the timelines required by law.

You may also manage store subscriptions in Google Play or the Apple App Store settings.

Your information may be processed on servers located in India and/or other countries where our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps consistent with applicable law to protect it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, when changes are material, provide additional notice through the Services or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
